About Erika

I'm a bilingual (Spanish) licensed professional counselor with a prior history of working as a babysitter and nanny. After a decade in the mental health field, I'm looking to transition back to something I used to really enjoy which is nurturing and supporting kids (and pets). I'm excited to use my therapy skills as an added benefit to working with emotional support and regulation of little ones! I'd describe my personality as engaging, warm and supportive. I like working with kids because they are full of joy and wonder. I want to help encourage that and be present with them. I'm looking for a job that allows me to be creative, playful and nurturing - while providing some much needed balance to my life. I started working with kids when I was 11 years old- 33 years ago. I like to be in nature- I enjoy hiking, spending time with my pets, and painting. My skills include tuning into what people need and are feeling. Being firm in a caring way. Fostering strengths in others.
