Hello! My name is Erica. I provide reliable in home childcare with the experience and skill of a preschool teacher. I have 8 years of experience working for private families providing in home as-needed babysitting. I have had two long-term nannying arrangements (One of them left me a review below!). I have the most experience with children aged 6 months- 10 years old. I am currently in my second year of preschool teaching and am employed as a lead teacher caring for 12 students aged 18mo- 5 years old. My teaching philosophy centers around respect, patience, and relationship. Children deserve space to feel their emotions, be heard by their caretaker, and feel comfortable making mistakes. I love to find activities that help improve a developmental skill. I am very familiar with facilitating play as well as knowing when to observe a child's own self discovery. Early childhood education is my passion and I am working to complete my bachelors degree in this field within the next year.

Erica started working for me in Fall 2017, when my son was 9 and my daughter was 7. She is a wonderful person, with whom I connected right away and my kids loved her!! She plays with them and engages them in conversation about their interests. She can talk to kids at their level. With us, she was the after-school nanny. She picked them up after school and generally took them on some fun adventure around the county. She would also bring them home and play with them. If they had homework, she would help them get it done. She also could make dinner and clean up the kitchen as well. She was with us about 2.5 years, when she felt she needed to pursue academic goals. We were all sad to lose her as the weekday nanny, but she stayed on as a nighttime babysitter and really became a part of the family! Erica is smart, reliable, responsible, safety-conscious and a lot of fun!!
