Hello! My name is Dominique and I live in Silverlake. I am a very fun, loyal, dependable, and compassionate person. I like hiking, arts & crafts, yoga, sunsets, coffee and sweets. I have a fun, patient, and energetic personality. I have experience in special needs care with children and adults. I assisted with bathing, feeding, bowel/urine programs, dressing, prescription schedule, dietary needs, physical therapy, etc. I am comfortable, experienced, and also a very fast learner. For the past five years, I have been a nanny/aide for two children with special needs. One boy from the ages of 2-7 who is diagnosed with ADHD and FAS, and another boy from ages 5-10 who has CP, little use of his right foot, and no use of his right arm. We would do tons of fun activities together, as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapies. I love working with kids, and enjoy encouraging self confidence and creativity. I teach art with kids through a volunteer program, and believe everyone has a creative outlet. I enjoy facilitating this process, and discovering media that people like to work with, so they have freedom of expression. Doing enriching and empowering art projects with youths, or anyone interested is a skill I can bring to the table. I am also great at housekeeping and errand running. I studied photography and videography and am very computer savvy. I have many skills and talents, but my main passions are helping people, learning, and creativity. It sounds corny, but I am a great caregiver because I genuinely care about people and enjoy giving them the specific, individual care they need.
