About Denise

I retired from public school teaching with 33 years of experience across grades K-8. Recently, I worked for two and a half years teaching remedial reading and math. Now, I tutor all core subjects K-8, focusing on multi-sensory instruction. (For Reading, I use the Barton System of Reading and Spelling which is based on Orton-Gillingham methods). I am very comfortable working with neurodivergent students. The first tutoring session is free so that you can make sure I am a good fit for your child. I'd describe my personality as empathetic, fun, and open. I like tutoring because I have enjoyed working with children and learning my whole life.
