I am a certified elementary teacher with an MA in teaching. I have 13 years of successful tutoring experience. I help students get caught up in reading, math, and writing. I've also homeschooled a number of students in these subjects and more. I use games, high-interest activities, and carefully planned lessons to help students become successful and confident. I work with students from pre-K through 8th grade.

Heather home-schooled my boys for the 2020-2021 school year and she was  a fantastic fit. Heather has been tutoring my daughter in math for the last few years.  I can't say enough about the transformation we have seen during this time.  Math time used to bring tears and frustration, but now she has the confidence, the background, and the help she needs to be her best student, and she generally seems to enjoy her time in tutoring. Heather has been tutoring my 8-year old daughter in reading and math for over 2 years now. She came to us highly recommended by a fellow parent in our elementary school. Heather has been not only extremely patient, but she has customized her lessons to fit our daughter's needs. She is not afraid to change her plans to suit how our daughter will best learn at that time. She often revisits those original plans or lessons when she feels our daughter is ready for them. She also challenges our daughter when she feels it will best benefit her.  She keeps our daughter engaged by learning through games and different activities, and she does movement breaks if needed. She is always on time for lessons and is very prompt about getting back to me if I have a question. Our daughter has made great progress under her wing, and we would highly recommend her!

 She has been tutoring my fourth grader in math. She has greatly improved and does not need special help at school anymore because of Heather!
