About Catherine

Experience: 10 yrs

Serving families in Allied Gardens, Serra Mesa, Kearny Mesa, Clairemont, Bay Ho, Mission Valley, Del Cerro, & La Mesa! My name is Catherine. I have 10+ years of experience tutoring preK-12 and college students in Math, Science, English, History, and more. Including 5-12th grade math - Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, & Pre-Calculus. Experienced with SAT prep, special needs (learning disabilities, anxiety, ADHD), college prep, and gifted. I teach via repetitious review to ensure building long term memory. I use the MESA approach to learning (STEM study skills). Can help with speeches, Visual Presentations, science projects, experiments, and lab reports/articles. I love tutoring any subject for any age! I make learning fun and motivate others! I am a lifelong learner and teacher! I also challenge my students when I think they're ready, and back off and go easier as a new topic becomes difficult, til fluency forms. Background check and references avail upon request updated 8/2026.

Most recent review

I've known Catherine for a very long time, ever since our high school days. I am currently enrolled in a college math class, math is not my strong suit at all. Cat was able to make me feel very comfortable with the tutoring process. Anytime I needed her, I was able to call or text with any questions I had and she'd walk me through step by step of how the problem should look like and what my results were. Anytime I was stuck, she was able to give me advice so my brain wouldn't fry from one question. Cat is very helpful and I have a B in math. Something I never thought was possible! Especially in a college math class!
