I am a Certified Newborn Care Specialist with 10 years hands on experience working with and teaching children from 3 months to 5 years old. My first year of experience was at a local NW daycare. There I attended to all three age groups ranging from 3 months to 5 years old. My next year working had me teaching 2nd and 3rd grade in aftercare class for a local public charter school. After that year, I was hired on at the school as a one-on-one teacher to a 3-year-old child who had autism. Working with him was a complete joy. My favorite moment was, after creating a picture book of people he came in contact with and reading it to him every day for weeks, the initially non vocal child call his mother " Mom". The next two years I was hired as a Teacher Assistant for Kindergarten. During this time, I also took the lead in two Literacy Intervention groups. I spent my last two years as a Behavior Technician for grades Preschool to 2nd grade, while also assisting Middle school.

From the moment my two elementary kids met her, they took to her. She is very warm, kind and caring, and follows instructions well. My kids have never had a sitter besides family so we were very cautious especially since my 4yr old son can have unpredictable tantrums sometimes. We needed someone who could take care of them at a hotel for 6-7 hrs while my husband and I attended a New Year's Eve wedding in the DC area. We interviewed her months before and felt very comfortable with her easy going personality. I can tell you that we never really had a doubt that she would get along with them. She sent us updates with pictures and kept them busy until they went to bed. They had fun and really enjoyed her company. We would definitely hire her again if we return to the DC area. Thanks Brittany for easing our minds so that we could relax and have fun knowing our kids were well taken care of!
