About Emily

Hi! I am a PhD student looking to pick up some extra work. Before grad school, I was a part of Teach for America and spent three years as a high school Special Education teacher. I loved teaching but felt ready for a career shift and learned coding to become a developer. During college, I babysat for the same family from my sophomore through senior year. I loved becoming a part of the family and watching the two kids grow up from elementary and middle school kiddos to middle and high school young adults! During that time, I picked them up from school, cooked dinner, managed extracurricular schedules, helped with homework, and even stayed overnight when the parents were away on business trips. I have also taken on part-time roles working with families with toddlers aged 2-4. I am responsible, consistent, and reliable. Most importantly, I love spending time with kids and helping them learn and grow!
