About Barbara

I have a BS in Child & Family Studies and a MS in Family Support & Parent Education. My professional experiences include work as a Developmental Educator for Early Intervention, a teacher in an NAEYC accredited Child Development Center; a licensed family child care provider; and a private nanny. After taking time off from paid professional roles to raise my family, I am excited to go back to work in the field I love! My top three child care skills are: •My knowledge of child development and my ability to meet children where they are and to build an environment where they will grow. •My ability to collaboratively problem solve with children. I believe that all behavior is communication. Misbehavior is either an unmet need, an unrealistic expectation or an underdeveloped skill to handle a realistic expectation. I am able to work with children of all ages to problem solve solutions to any issues that arise. •My ability to work as a team with parents to align with their values.
