I have been in the caregiving industry for 10 years as both a live-in and live-out nanny. From infants to preteens I have spent my days entertaining, nurturing minds and guiding emotions. Jumping from childcare to senior care is a leap - but my heart is guiding me in this direction. Like most, I think the world of my grandfather, and love him endlessly. Incredulously, my grandfather was 97 yrs old and working part-time as a janitor before the pandemic began. After the pandemic began, I watched his age catch up to his mind and body due to months of isolation. It has been devastating to witness. In the childcare industry, the majority of parents prioritize having their children socialize, especially after being isolated for so long. (Parents are now seeing emotional outbursts as a result of pandemic.) I feel seniors need the same consideration. Companionship is more important for the souls well-being than most realize and I would love to be a source of company for your loved one.
