About Amelia

I have over two years of care-work experience, including with children and with adults with intellectual disabilities. I have worked for 10 months with children, doing nature-based education. In one recent position at the Center for Wildlife, I helped to run a nature-based summer camp for 5-12-year-olds. Here we learned nature concepts, learned to explore nature safely, and had fun! I have cared for adults with intellectual disabilities with Innisfree Village for almost 2 years. Here I was a live-in caretaker where I administered medication and supported daily personal needs. In this role I also facilitated therapeutic-workshop activities such as vegetable and herb gardening, farming, and weaving. I have found through these roles that I have a passion for personal, hands-on teaching. I believe all of us thrive best when allowed to explore our interests in a nonjudgmental space, and I hope to fill that role for your loved one.
