About Alyssa

I'd describe myself as compassionate, inquisitive, and goal-oriented. I grew up in a large, close-knit Filipino family where caring for younger ones - my little brother, cousins, nieces, and nephews was simply part of life. Those experiences, along with child development courses in college, shaped how I show up for every child I care for. I'm drawn to families where I can see intention, love, and admiration for their children. Outside of caregiving, I love reading, writing, painting, and photography. That creativity spills into how I engage with kids through art, conversation, and play. I also have a martial arts background and am happy to share that with families who are interested. My top three childcare skills are emotional regulation support, active listening, and encouraging autonomy and agency. I practice all three intentionally with my own niece and nephew helping them navigate their feelings, feel genuinely heard, and build confidence through their own choices.
