About who needs care: Hello. Our family is in search for an on-call caregiver for my aunt who lives in Daphne. She is 78 and her health is declining due to a variety of health issues. She weighs 90 pounds. Her primary issue is her right hip that was replaced years ago but the screws holding in place came loose and she chose to not have it fixed when her health was good. She lives in daily pain and is able to move a bit with the help of her walker. She uses a toilet that is set up near her recliner, she is able to get herself up and down out of her recliner. She manages her meds. A nurse comes in 2 times a week and another to bathe her twice a week. She simply does not like to be alone for too long. We love her to pieces but will share that she is not always an easy person. Her anxiety runs high and she can be short and hard to deal with when she digs her heels in. The family reminds ourselves that if we lived in the daily pain she does we would be feeling the same way. My aunt is also gracious, chatty, interesting, funny and very kind. I am the primary caregiver living with her but there are times when I am not here. Especially on the weekends. I am also going out of town August 15-30 and we will need help not full time but when other family is not able to be here during the day. Mornings are her most anxious time. She can pay $10 an hour. We are looking for a friendly, reliable, kind, and experienced caregiver to assist our Magnolia Springs based mother on approximately 2/3 days a week for 2/3 hrs per day for a max total of 5-8 hrs per week. This is part-time work with flexible days and hours (anytime between 9am-5pm). We need someone to take our mother to run errands: grocery store, doctors, etc. She also needs help preparing meals and helping walk her 2 dachshunds. Our 71-year-old mother had a stroke last year and is experiencing memory loss and some dementia; she also has cardiovascular issues. She is no longer able to drive herself around; she is mobile and able to walk on her own. She can verbally communicate although she has started to stutter. For most of the time, she is living alone. She is very social. Mom has now had her 2nd vaccine shot!
