I am a 24-year-old student at California Baptist University. I am a double major in biology and sociology with a minor in dance from the University of California Riverside. I am graduating in December, although I will still have a couple of pre-requisite classes to complete in the spring. I love outdoor activities, working on arts and crafts, cooking, and of course spending time with family in my free time. I am very energetic, fun, caring, responsible, dependable, and detail-oriented.
I was a nanny for a family for almost 3 years, until they moved away. They had 2 children who are now almost 4 and 5, and I started when the little one was 6 weeks old. While working for them my duties involved everything including bath time, school pick up and drop off, cooking, and laundry. I still keep in contact with them and even visit them up north every couple of months. Since then, I have had odd jobs here and there including date-night sitting and teaching dance classes, in addition to school and my regular part-time job.
For the last 8 years, I have worked for a small city in Orange County in their Recreation and Community Services Department. While working there, I have had many responsibilities including running city events, implementing the after school program which promotes fitness and homework time, leading day camp, working in their senior program, aiding in the pre-school program, and assisting with teen events. I have a very diverse background with all ages and I absolutely love it. My passion is working with people and building lasting relationships.
I am very big on incorporating morals, values, and manners as well as education (homework). My number one rule is to have fun, which is very doable, even when completing chores and homework. I believe engaged and fun hands-on learning is the key to understanding material. I am constantly reading with children and singing (even though I do not have the best singing voice), in order to stimulate learning. Every child has their own learning style and it is important to emphasize what they enjoy and what they are good at. I always strive to implement parent's morals and values from creating healthy eating habits to even praying before bedtime if the parent's wish. It is extremely important to have a solid foundation where everyone is on the same page in order to truly have a strong positive influence on children. Thank you for your time and consideration. :)
