Sara was my mother's primary caretaker until my mother died in February. She was responsible for organizing my mother's schedule, assisting her with getting dressed and bathed, setting out her meals, keeping the house tidy, driving her to and from Boston for medical treatments and appointments and, eventually, setting up her 24/7 caretaking schedule. Sara's compassion and powers of observation as well as her considerable communication skills helped me, as the only daughter, understand ("eyes on the ground") how my mother was doing and what kind of care she needed. Sara was professional, smart, and also had a good sense of humor. She also possesses a kind of resourcefulness that demonstrated time and again how she was able to troubleshoot problems (technological, household, etc). She also knew when my mother needed to go to the ER--and she communicated that clearly as to why. She was never wrong. I have the utmost respect for her skills and her kindness.
