Barbara P.|Berkley, MI
65 yrs old
I have been a caregiver of children and the elderly throughout my life. The oldest girl of 8 children, made me my mother's helper. As a young, single mother of two, I moved close to my grandparents and widowed grandmother and was a constant help to them in their old age. I cared for my dear Grandmother, who had Alzheimer's before she went into a nursing home. Then, there was my dear Grandfather, who was a stroke victim, I helped care for Him with my Grandmother. I helped with dressing, washing, changing diapers, feeding and getting Him in and out of bed. But most of all, giving Him the respect and dignity he deserved ! With my help, He was able to stay at home till He passed. My grandson who is 8, has "autism" and I have been a constant caregiver to Him. I graduated high school and completed one year at Saywer School of Business, which enabled me to work various office jobs. I did years of waitressing and also worked in the Berkley School system, first as a "lunch lady" then assisting the teacher with "special needs" students. I am passionate about people, young or old who need care, help, or just plain old companionship. If you need child care or elder care, look no further, I am that person, you can trust to care for your loved one! I am Christian and I believe in walking in Love!
