Full-Time Nanny

When I was 16 years old and a junior in high school, I was in a program where I worked with preschool children for school credit; this continued until I graduated. When I was 19 years old, I started working for a preschool. I continued my employment there for nearly two years. I worked with newborns to the age of 2.5. I was responsible for feedings, diaper changes, lesson plans, etc. In 2008, I started working for a daycare. I was hired as a substitute waiting for a full-time position to open up. I worked with all age groups from newborns to preschool. Again, I was responsible for feedings, diaper changes, lesson plans, providing age appropriate activities, etc. In August of 2009, I started at a daycare. At this center, I was the lead teacher. This meant I was in the lead position and had two assistant teachers working with me. These children were from 1 year of age to 2.5. Being a lead, I was responsible not only for the listed above but also for sending notes home to parents, speaking with parents about their child's day, making decisions for the classroom, determining a child's readiness to advance to the next room and I also started a children's sign language program, as well as simple Spanish. In the summer of 2010, I started working for a family as their private nanny. I was responsible for 5 children. They ranged from 2.5 to 14 years of age. I planned meals, took them on outings, helped with homework, provided transportation to and from school and other functions, as well as potty training for the little one. In August of 2011, I started working for another family. I was responsible for 2 little girls ages 7 and 2.5. I was responsible for getting the older child ready and off to school in the morning and then general childcare for the younger child during the day. I have worked for two other centers since moving as a lead teacher. In September of 2013, I started as a director of a counseling and mentoring program. I was responsible for 10 staff, the center itself and up to 250 children. After that, I was a nanny for three other families simultaneously for one year until the beginning of February when I had my first child. I also do light housework, help with homework, run errands, etc. I absolutely adore what I do and to me it's the most rewarding job in the world. I am looking to be a nanny for another family, a family who I maybe an extended part of. Being a nanny truly is my calling and it is where my heart lies.
