Little Acorns is a licensed family daycare that offers a Montessori inspired curriculum and organic meals! We are child oriented, child initiated, and teacher supported. We believe all children learn best through hands-on experiences. Our curriculum is Montessori inspired and focuses on developing independence, confidence, and empathy. We offer developmentally appropriate experiences that engages each individual child. Each child will be empowered to make their own choices, become self-confident, and guide their own learning. We believe play is a child s work and strive to allow for ample uninterrupted blocks of time for each child to build their skillset. We look for and cultivate those teachable moments that randomly present themselves throughout our day. Little Acorns places a strong emphasis on independence and free choice. Children are encouraged to explore their environment freely and become contributing members of our community. A number of our daily activities will be designed to encourage the Montessori concepts of self-help and independence. We value the core ideals of Montessori and offer a number of Montessori materials and lessons alongside inspiration from Reggio-Emilia. Here at Little Acorns Learning Center, we truly value the process over the product. We encourage and facilitate creative play and activities. In practice, this means offering open-ended materials as often as possible. Children are presented with materials and are encourage to freely explore and create. Montessori Pathways is a home day care. I have space for one child with a DOB as young as 6/2017 or I can enroll one child with a DOB between 12/2015 and 12/2016. However, I do keep a waiting list. I use the MSU Academic Calendar for unpaid time off. Two weeks at winter break, spring break, the week after spring semester and the week after summer session. This works well for MSU faculty or perhaps a parent who works from home and would take vacation at these times. I am influenced by child care philosophies such as, RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers), as well as Montessori. RIE and Montessori blend well to provide a respectful, nurturing environment for infants and toddlers. Please see my website for more information. Thank you.

tinkrLAB was created in 2014 with the intent to teach kids about invention, building and making. We believe kids have a huge amount of creativity that rarely is tapped into and we think we can help. At tinkrLAB, creativity and curiosity are encouraged in a safe environment, with hands-on teaching. Kids learn best when they can experience and touch something rather than simply watching. In our tinkrZONE makerspace, we work with both kids AND adults. We teach them how to make and create their own ideas and projects. Utilizing our tools, space and expertise, making projects and ideas come to life becomes fun and easy. tinkrLAB STEAM Learning Center was created during the summer of 2021 and was built out of a need for STEAM learning in our community. We offer reduced child-to-staff ratios, inventive curriculum and a space that nurtures creativity and hands-on learning. We welcome you to tinkrLAB and invite you to see ALL tinkrLAB has to offer. We promise that the kids won't be the only ones having fun!
