When You Need Me, I Will Be There.
I have just moved from Oklahoma to Houston. My last job was Caring for a ms assisting Residents who are dealing with memory loss/Dementia. I received my CNA certification my Junior year of high school and love the job, though I don't want to do it for the rest of my life. After receiving my CNA I've worked in two nursing homes & a group home for the intellectually disabled, I enjoyed the time spent there. I am a fun, outgoing person and I understand that older people may not have the social life they once did. I always get so attached to the residents that I've taken care of, and that would be a weakness. Having to care for the different types of limitations the residents had and being in these settings made me realize that I want to become a Physical Therapist. Witnessing a stroke patient not receiving the proper therapy they needed really triggered my decision. If I were to have a limitation, I would want someone like myself, who genuinely wants to help people, help me. My senior year I received my certification as a PT Aide and have job shadowed three Physical Therapists. Though I may only be 20, and that may seem like a negative, but I am very driven and I will be there when you need me.
