Part-Time Caregiver 12 Hours/24 Hours.

Hello and thank you for reading my bio!! I really like helping people and have been helping people in mental health, home health care and social work for over 20 years. (Please view my resume). I believe that all of us deserve to be treated with dignity and care. I love to make people happier for the moment and improve their days. I enjoy listening and learning from the wonderful people I meet through home health care. I have worked in home health care with the injured and terminally ill for over 20 years. Currently, I specialize in caring for those with Alzheimer's, TBI and other cognitive deficits. I have also cared for children with brain injuries. However, I will consider other diagnosis. My care of the terminally ill is broad. I can assist with wound care, catheter care, IV care, G-tube hygiene, meal preparation and light housekeeping. My current clients are victims of strokes, dementia and Alzheimer's. I work well with people that worry and have poor memories. I am understanding and attentive to those that repeat their stories, as that is their reality and very important to them. The client I have cared for the longest has chronic seizures, partial paralysis and chronic, severe, mental illness. He requires assistance with personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, transportation and monitoring for PTSD, and delusional episodes. I am also involved in training Service dogs and working on my PhD in Clinical Psychology. I volunteer with my Therapy dog by going to nursing homes, hospitals, and psychiatric units. I also love to volunteer. I enjoyed helping children for over 15 years while working at Children's Protective Services and intend to work with adults and children when I become a psychologist. I also will work with those that have had insults to their brain and spinal cord. Thank you for considering me to safely take care of your family member or you!! I will provide you the highest quality of care. I have a four hour minimum, prefer 12 hours shifts and can do overnights occasionally. Sincerely, Barbaradee BA, MS.
