I have always loved working with kids. As soon as I was old enough I was babysitting for families in my town and my very first job I worked at a playhouse watching kids who were ages anywhere from toddlers to 12 years old. I have experience working with infants as well! Yes I do diapers too! I am able to keep kids entertained with games, music, arts and crafts and am able to calm upset children as well. I love the fact that kids are naturally kind, smart and honest and think it is so important to fill their childhoods with kindness and encouragement, which is something I know I can do.

Burlington family seeks a Part-to Full-time Nanny for their 10-month-old infant. Care is needed around 15 hours over T, W, Th. The family would ideally like to find someone who can be flexible with times over those three days, though Thursday from 6-9 p.m. is a must. They are also open to going to full-time for the right person. Their ideal Nanny will be kind, respectful and a good communicator. They practice a parenting philosophy called RIE, which is based on the idea that infants and children are whole, sentient beings from the beginning who should be treated with respect. They would like a nanny that is open and willing to learn about RIE, if not already familiar. Responsibilities include: feeding, diapering, putting down for naps. RIE encourages non-intervention from caregivers (except for safety and security) and a lot of independent free play. Their Nanny must feel comfortable being fairly hands off, while also ensuring safety and security. Their days are calm and routine, generally spent at home (though are open to outings to places close-by), and are child-led. They are looking for someone who is comfortable with Mom being at home on occasion, taking the initiative to do other household tasks if she want to spend time with the baby. Household duties include: dishes, laundry, some meal prep/cooking for the child, as well as general tiding. They will provide a vehicle for use during work hours. Position starts Mid-August and they are looking for someone long-term. Pay is $15-$20/hour. They offer one week paid vacation and one week unpaid vacation (ideally corresponding with their vacation) four paid sick/personal days and two paid Holidays.
