Certified Medication Technician Specializing In Dementia Care Looking To Provide Your Loved One With The Utmost Respect And Care.
I have 5 years of experience working with my own grandfather (taking him to and from appointments, cooking, cleaning, personal cares, and consulting with POA and doctor on any behavioral changes). After he passed away I decided to work with a local senior living company where I was a Team Lead and Medication Technician for the Memory Care building. I was in charge of administering medication, consulting between doctors and pharmacies about medication changes, charting behavioral changes, monitoring vitals, and being a companion and friend to all.
I really love what I do. So much, that I am in school for my CNA and LPN I will have my CNA by 04/15 but have been certified via CBRF training. I feel that the elderly deserve the utmost respect and should be cared for like no other. They have lived through so much both historically and personally that has benefited generations to come and should not be taken for granted.
I adore my job as a care-taker and have been known for going the extra mile to make my residents happy. I feel that God has blessed me with the gifts of patience, compassion, and understanding and I am proud to share them.
I have been exposed to the combativeness that dementia can cause so that does not scare or deter me.
I am Episcopalian and very close to my family. My father is a member of the Elks and my family is in high regards with the community.
I enjoy watching John Wayne movies, listening to Dean Martin and Ella Fitzgerald and make an amazing cheesecake. Both of my parents were chefs so cooking is in my blood and working with fresh produce is my specialty.
I am a true believer in holistic medication. While I understand the benefits of prescription medication I also like to use different forms of aroma therapy, joint massages, and memory stimulating crafts and games to stimulate the brain and body.
I would love nothing more than to share my passion and skills and become a part of the family. Please notify me with any other questions or concerns.
