My father lives with dementia. He manages the bulk of his ADL's though needs some verbal prompts around dressing and bathing. He can't be alone because of safety issues but will not require a lot of hands-on care. About the care needs: It is important that the caregiver be someone of color, preferably African-American. As someone in his 80's, my father grew up in the Jim Crow South and has not had good interactions with non-African-American people at points. Some memory care experience would be good. In addition to companion care, some light housekeeping in his room would be valuable. This position is part-time weekend coverage, ~10-12 hours weekly. Saturday shifts may be 10a-4p, 12p-6p, or 2p-8 p.m. depending on my activities. Sundays would be 12p-4p generally. I might also ask for the occasional weeknight coverage.
