About who needs care: My mother-in-law has dementia and is lonely. Could use a helpful companion who encourages safe independence. She has a small dog who she likes to walk. She lives in an independent living retirement home so there are a lot of activities that she could participate in if she felt comfortable with a companion. About the care needs: Somebody who is calm, caring and patient and encourages her to be independent as she is able. It would be helpful for someone to have a nursing background and be familiar with working with dementia patients.
