About who needs care: My father had a cardiac arrest recently and is recovering very well physically. We do not anticipate him needing help with the bathroom, getting up and downstairs, etc. He has little to no short term memory however, so he remembers people he knows, where he lives, and so on but not the timing of events. He also tends to mixup something that did happen with something he saw on TV or read somewhere. Essentially hes confused but friendly, happy and just needs someone to hang out with him. He will live with his wife who can help but also must work and have time to herself. We can offer your own living space in the house with large bedroom and private bathroom in Newport, and provide periods of time off both at night and when needed during the day. We arent sure exactly what the future holds for him but he will need someone to help him out and we want him in his own home, not a nursing home if at all possible About the care needs: Ideally we are looking for someone who is kind, gentle, willing to help Bill if he starts getting confused, keep him on task and the like. No specialized skills as far as we know now, at the most helping him get dressed, his body is physically well now and he is able to use the bathroom himself. My dad is pretty content to watch tv, take a walk, read, and talk sports. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
