About who needs care: This would be for both my parents. My dad, 87, has mobility and balance issues and has had a recent hospitalization and rehab center care. My mom has vision and residual stroke/brain injury confusion and disorientation issues due to recent strokes. They both want to remain in their home as long as possible. About the care needs: Someone with intellect, kindness, a good sense of humor, and with patience. My dad had a recent elbow surgery related to arthritis (8 weeks ago). He had a recent OHSU stay for a fall and subsequent brain bleed (3 weeks ago). He isnt navigating with a walker very well lately and will need a wheel chair. His balance is currently very wobbly. My mom needs care in that she cognitively is confused and often disoriented and my dad cannot be her caregiver well any longer. And she cannot be his. They both can no longer drive. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
