About who needs care: We need someone to work 5 hours a day during weekdays, except school holidays. The day would consist of arriving at noon to help her get up, use the bathroom, shower, brush her hair, eat, take medicine, and keep her safe and entertained until we come back at 5 p.m. She has Alzheimer's/dementia so we cannot leave her home alone otherwise she removes her diaper and defecates in random places, makes messes in the kitchen and bathroom, and tries to leave on her own. Luckily our neighbors are helpful and bring her back if she leaves without us noticing, but we would rather not have her leave on her own at all. She loves listening to any and all type of music. If you have experience with physical therapy or memory care, that would be a plus. She squeezes her hand tight so we need someone to make sure she keeps her arm lowered and her hands open otherwise she restricts her own circulation. Essentially, after the first couple of hours of work, the rest of the time is mostly just keeping an eye on her. About the care needs: Someone who knows Spanish would be the best fit, but not necessary. She responds well to people who can speak to her gently and patiently. If you pressure her she retaliates. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
