Care needed for my 75-year-old mom who is in the middle stages of Alzheimer's. Typical day is hanging out at home, doing errands outside to keep active, painting nails, crocheting, cooking dinner, and spending time with my father who lives in the house (married 44 years). Help will be needed with showering, choosing weather appropriate clothes, laundry, making meals, traveling to activities. The ideal caregiver is a kind person who likes listening to stories, asking questions, chatting, and laughing. Experience with dementia patients is ideal. I'd like someone who is willing to stay with my mom as she progresses to the later stages of Alzheimer's. Important to note is that my mom and dad live together and he is usually at home, so the caregiver will be around him and they have to also get along. He is blunt and no-nonsense.
