About who needs care: My dad is independent, but has some short-term memory loss; for example, he often becomes confused about upcoming appointments. He also has balance/mobility issues typical for a 90-year-old man. He takes care of his own hygiene and likes to clean his small condominium. However, he would like some help with light housework and meal prep (lunch and dinner). He's pleasant, and agreeable, and could use some companionship as well. About the care needs: He is a former history professor, and loves to talk about Maine history, especially Rockland history. No other hobbies to speak of. The ideal candidate would be able to listen well; no other specialized skills. As far as personality, someone outgoing, friendly, engaging and able to laugh at his jokes. He loves to make people laugh and does not like conflict. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
