About who needs care: My dad's just come home from the hospital after a fairly severe stroke. He's now got dementia (memory problems) and trouble with everyday living tasks, such as moving about (e. g., he can't get out of bed by himself and needs to be supervised at all times while walking), bathing (he needs help finding soaps and things in the shower), and using the bathroom (guidance to and from; changing of adult diapers). About the care needs: My dad's a lovable, silly, nerdy guy :) His family (son + wife) love him dearly, but they recognize that, to avoid burnout, they need some help. He'll do best with someone who's kind but assertive, comfortable bearing his weight (in case he leans or starts to fall; he wears a physical therapy safety belt while walking that can be used to stabilize him), and appreciates his adorableness. He "sundowns" (gets very confused / agistated / irritable) at some points (usually in the evening). Alzheimers will get worse over time. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
