About who needs care: We need help caring for my Oma during my sisters wedding reception and possibly the ceremony, as well. We are mainly looking for someone to be able to take her back to her room (some driving may be involved) or a quiet space and sit with her if she gets too tired. She has gotten dizzy and passed out in large social crowds in the past and we want to make sure she doesnt get over stimulated. She may need to leave right after the ceremony in San Marco, or she might be able to travel to the reception location near the St. Johns shopping center (25-30 min drive) and stay there for a bit before going home early. We want her day-of caretaker to make sure she is drinking water, watch her to make sure she isnt getting overwhelmed and kinda spacing out, make sure she does not eat any dairy, and help her get from point A to point B. Depending on the family discussions within the next couple of months, we may need care from 3-10:30 p.m. or from 6-10:30 p.m. depending on that time. About the care needs: Our ideal caregiver for the day is someone who is flexible and able to go with the flow of the evening and how our Oma is feeling. The day-of caretaker will need to have access to a safe and relatively clean car that they can use to transport her to her hotel if needed. Please note that we typically use seat pads during transportation just in case, though they have not been needed in a long time. We suggest wearing comfortable wedding attire. We prefer someone with medical knowledge, such as a nurse or person who has experience working with elderly in a nursing home, as she has had major health concerns and has some trouble with mobility. She has a walker and is supposed to have access to a wheelchair at the ceremony. We need someone with a phone. Services needed include: transportation, companionship, and mobility assistance.
