About who needs care: My step dad is turning 69 years old end of the month and struggles with severe hoarding disorder. Since I live in the east coast most of the time, I want someone to come and check on him once a week or once every 2 weeks for a couple of hours to help him or motivate him complete tasks that are part of a big mission/project we are working on to get the house cleaned up. He started seeing a therapist weekly Abbott a month ago and has an established psychiatrist that he sees semi annually for depression and PTSD. He also needs to stay on top of his health so maybe check in to see if he needs help grocery shopping to buy foods that are healthy for him since he has a sensitive stomach. Also potentially take him to doctor appointments. About the care needs: I'm looking for preferably a male care companion that speaks Spanish as well and has good knowledge of what seniors need to do to take care of themselves and that would motivate and encourage him to follow the necessary difficult steps to get better. He wants to get better but needs a lot of in-person motivation. My step dad likes movies, animals, and dancing so someone to go watch a movie with him, take him to volunteer at animal shelters (once he cleans the house since he's currently hoarding stray cats that we need to rehome) or take him to zumba classes (or similar) for some exercise. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
