About who needs care: s/p CVA 14 mos. I for ADLs. recent overnight hospital stay last weekend and requiring A for meal prep 2o drowsiness side effect for new medication. lives alone with cat and daughter is five blocks away. pls to monitor she takes her BP and reminders to take meds (already sorted). About the care needs: Span/Eng bilingual would be best fit, to be honest. Post CVA she is regressing to dominant language Spanish, although English is still easily understood, and spoken just more strained. She is from South America and arrived here over 50 years ago. She likes her needs to be anticipated, she feels shame in asking for assistance- cultural silliness from the German ;-) Skills: vegetarian Cardiac diet but it is meal prep not cooking required; CPR/1st aid cert preferred but at least push her medical alert button for help immediately if needed, no hesitation; standby assist for showering; help with tv remote and telephone- she had left visual field cut with CVA and struggles; companionship/ games/ puzzles; communication with daughter. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
