About who needs care: My dad has dementia and needs help with most daily activities. My mom is currently the full time caretaker, so we are looking for someone to help get him up, to the bathroom, dressed and add some companionship a couple days a week, to help my mom out. He moves slowly and uses a walker. Some days he has difficulty getting up, but usually with help he can do transfers. He is also mostly non-verbal, but understands a lot. He communicated with noises or making faces.
He doesn't do much now, so engaging him with art, songs, or basic exercises would be good.
About the care needs: Someone who is cheerful, and experienced in caring for seniors who need help with transfers is ideal. Also, he is a big man, maybe 210 lbs??, so they need to be able to help lift him. Again, he can get up and stand with assistance, i. e. someone there at his elbow.
Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
