Gregory's Music Lessons (Orchestral, Piano, Song Writing, Vocal)

Years of Experience: 50 Location Options: In Studio Travel Radius: 0 Genres: Classical, Country, Gospel, Pop, Musical Theater, Folk, Soul Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Keyboard and Piano Lessons,Vocal Lessons,Song Writing Lessons,Orchestral Lessons Overview: I am a successful, versatile, and experienced voice teacher/coach with a Master's Degree in vocal performance from Indiana University Bloomington. My teacher was the Metropolitan Opera star-Martha Lipton. . As a performer, I have sung in operas, recitals, pop bands, and Broadway shows with important companies as well as church music. As a voice teacher, I work with the basics of technique and placement in order to protect the voice in any singing style. As a vocal coach, I work with ways to sing specific songs, even the most extreme even screams, so as to get the effect but not wear out the voice. I also work with children and boys with voices that are unchanged, or going through the change. Unfortunately, the only sample of my singing still on youtube is in an opera. Although I am an older man and don’t sing all that frequently or professionally anymore, but my voice is still fresh because of the technical foundation I acquired from Ms. Lipton.I have some older recordings of my pop and recital work. As to my teaching style, I am affable, patient, humorous, and knowledgeable, but insist that students arrive prepared for lessons. Imake friends easily and enjoy teaching. Also, Iam good with children to older students, as well as beginners. With experienced singers, my lessons are aimed at preventing bad vocal habits from sneaking in and helping them learn new repertoire. Further, I can work with damaged voices to return them to vocal health. My experience as an actor, stage director, and dance choreographer can help with a singer's all-important presentation.I am an adequate studio pianist but Ihave discoveredthat it is usually better for stylistic development to have the students bring their own accompanist. My motto-You are never too young or too old to learn to sing or how to sing better! I can also teach ancillary subjects if you offer them, such as music history, music theory, composition/songwriting, and mentoring exceptional students. I have a prepared series of adult-education seminars aimed at the general public who are interested in learning more about music entitled “Who Invented Classical Music”.These are available to be presented at your school as part of my job assignment. Some other information:An in-person interview would be met welcome. If you decide to proceed with my applicationI will gladly furnish some distinguished references. My name is fairly well known among performing arts aficionados because of my work as a critic for formerly known as .This shouldhelp in attracting students. I live in DeSoto so a commute to your facility is not a problem 30-40 minutes, especially if it can be scheduled around rush hour. I am available on days, evenings, and weekends. It would be best if we could work around my assignments to review events because it keeps me sharp and my name before prospective students. Website:
