Corey studied under John Sutherland and Phil Snyder while at UGA and maintains a particular interest in 20th century and contemporary repertoire. As a composer, he is interested in writing solo and chamber works for the guitar that reflect the past while searching for their own voice. In addition to classical guitar pursuits, he also performs post-rock and progressive metal inspired music with Athens group Jet Engine Dragons. My views on music are pretty simple. Music is about emotion- capturing and conveying it. I play every instrument in a standard rock band (piano being my principal at Berklee).My passion for music has led me to a very intimate understanding of it.I can transcribe every part in a song by ear, teach lyric writing, music theory, songwriting, playing- the works!
