One of our experienced guides will lead you on a half day adventure ascending over 700 ft vertically on our custom designed Via Ferrata located on our very own private red and white rock faced cliff. Enjoy an absolutely stunning view of Orderville Valley and into Zion National Park with every step higher. Prepare to be wowed!! Special iron steps installed up the whole face of the rock make this activity possible for most guests over the age of 10. Being on time is very important. SELF-GUIDED AUDIO TOUR: (Activation Code included in Ticket) Amble along the cliffs overlooking the Potomac River, taking in thundering waterfalls, exciting rock climbing excursions, and the region’s most perilous kayaking spots. On this self-guided audio tour, you’ll have an opportunity to explore a few hidden gems found on the Great Falls Park trails. I’ll also show you one of my favorite, wilder paths at the national park - all guided step-by-step through GPS. You’ll see that there’s much more to Great Falls than its viewing platforms. You'll see areas tourists don't know about, including views of hidden waterfalls, the region's best rock climbing and rappelling spots, and a route along the canal and through an abandoned colonial-era city. There are also several opportunities to go off-trail to get up-close with the rapids at the falls. This tour can take up to two hours and, while it’s not especially strenuous, it’s plenty exciting! We believe everyone can enjoy rock climbing and our objectives are to help beginners learn the basics and pursue this fantastic sport. We take a short hike to a natural cliff face, discuss climbing safety and knots, and begin climbing and belaying. You will have plenty of opportunity to climb and practice belaying as we top-rope climb on at least 5-6 routes with unique rock types and features. Participants will learn the fundamental skills necessary to pass a belay test in an indoor climbing gym.
