Get ready to embark on an underwater adventure in this hands-on, action-packed after-school class where we’ll uncover the secrets of the deep blue sea. Students will learn the science of submarines, master the mysteries of buoyancy, and take on fun engineering challenges. We'll start by creating your very own Cartesian diver—a mini submarine that rises and sinks on command! Then, put your creativity and problem-solving skills to the test with buoyancy battles: Can you build a floating platform that holds the most weight? Or design an object that sinks just right? From experiments with density to understanding how submarines dive and surface, projects will bring you closer to thinking like a real marine scientist. No need to pack a wetsuit—just bring your curiosity, imagination, and a spirit for adventure. Let’s make some waves!
