Ceramics Classes in Oakland, CA

Once a month CHS stays open after dark for a relaxed, social evening of art, pizza, and friends — while grown-ups get a night of their own! This month artists turn a plain ceramic pot and a faux fern into one very funky houseplant. We start by choosing a color story — three or four colors to lead with — then paint the pot and the leaves. While everything dries, we eat cheese pizza. Then out come the Posca markers for the personality layer: dots, stripes, tiny stars, a little face, veins running down the center of a leaf. We'll wind down with art films before the night ends at 8:45. Mixed ages 5–11. Little ones get more help and big kids get more room to run with it. This one isn't from our regular class curriculum — weekly students won't be repeating anything they've done.
