Years of Experience: 1 Location Options: In Home Travel Radius: 8 Genres: Rock, Jazz, Classical Age Groups: Children Instruments Taught: Drum Lessons,Orchestral Lessons Overview: I am currently a High School Senior at Chaminade College Preparatory High School. Music has been a huge part of my life as I started on guitar at 6 years old and since then have taken on instruments such as, French Horn, Mellophone, Drum , Marching Percussion and other Concert Band and Marching instruments. I have had the opportunity to be able to teach siblings of other members of the band program but have been unable to get my name out. After graduation I have a couple of plans as far as music. I plan to apply and hopefully successfully march DCI (Drum Corps International) under the Blue Devils, which is best described as professional marching band. My planned Major for College is Business, but I am planning to either Double Major in music or minor in music. Formal Education: All of my Formal Education have been under the Band Directors at my middle school and high school. Cynthia Snyder who is a violinist, trumpeter, and clarinet player who first introduced me to the French horn and she has taught me in the Concert Band and Classical Music areas of music. Ken Hoffman, who has instructed me under, Jazz Band, Concert Band, and Marching Band who plays, French Horn, Tuba, Guitar, and pretty much any instrument in those areas. He has a Masters in Music and is currently as of 2015, working on his Doctorate of Music. He is my mentor and has allowed me to love music and stick with it even with my doubts. Performing Experience: I have been in several amateur and professional performances. Under the Chaminade Name, I have performed in many competitions of SCSBOA, WBA, and ADLA under the marching band category. Under Concert Band I have participated in many of the same as well as the annual Heritage Festivals held in such venues as Sea World, Disneyland, and San Francisco. Just this past spring of 2015, I had the honor to be part of the only band to represent my country in Spain as they celebrated the crowning of Saint Mary, with a gigantic music festival that brings musicians from around the world to participate and help in the celebration. Experience Teaching: I have only taught two children, one age 11 and the other age 7. The 11 year old on French Horn/Mellophone and the 7 year old on Drum set. They have been able to keep up in their music programs at school as they are slow learners as well as learn to love music that they never saw in themselves prior. This has been over just the past year of 2014-2015

My father brought me up listening to people like Jimi Hendrix, Bob Seger, Van Morrison, The Temptations and more. I had a deep love for music all of my life and when he bought me my first guitar at age 11 I was unstoppable from that moment forward. I received four years of private lessons from a Musician's Institute graduate and knew from there that music was all I ever wanted out of life and dedicated my life to studying the guitar and music to one day be able to be like my heroes out on stage. After high school I lived for a year in the real world, never liked it, and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a degree in music from Musician's Institute, which I graduated from in September in 09. I now perform with my original project Typical Situation, as well as having performed with other great acts such asThe Big Joe Hurt Band, Rakoon and Carreyo (Sony/BMG). I have done work for David Coury's Singing For The Actor class as a background musician and more! My main influences are Jimi Hendrix, John Frusciante, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Philip Sayce. My strongest musical styles are Blues, Rock, Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, Rap, RB and Smooth Jazz. Although with my education I am qualified to teach all other styles. As a teacher I believe that the key to learning the Guitar is to start by creating the finger strength to play, beginning with warm up exercises and some simple scale work to really build up your fingers strength as well as dexterity. Once they are in good shape, only takes about a week or two, I can start teaching how to solo and play chords and build a basic knowledge and understanding of the Guitar and how to use it as naturally as you use your own hands! From there, you'll move on to whatever style of music interests you, while learning how to use techniques from other styles of music to compliment your style of choice! * Formal Education: AA degree in Guitar and Performance, minor Music Business and Sound Engineering from Musician's Institute Private Education: 4 years of private lessons from a Musician's Institute graduate, and the school of hard knocks. Performing Experience: Performed with a wide variety of artists, as well as extensive performing experience during my time at Musician's Institute, some studio session work, and experience playing in some of Hollywoods biggest clubs including the House of Blues and The Whiskey A-Go-Go. Have also played at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino's Wasted Space Club in Las Vegas multiple times. Experience Teaching: Taught children and adults for 2 years during my time in Northern California before moving to Los Angeles to begin school at Musician's Institute.
