Her journey into the world of music began when she joined the children's choir at her local church, where she participated in numerous competitions, showcasing her natural talent and love for music. In 2003, Herty pursued her passion for singing by enrolling at the Institute Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, majoring in Opera and Vocal. Under the guidance of her mentors, including her aunt Linda Sitinjak, an esteemed Opera singer and Dr. Endang Ismudiati, she honed her vocal skills and graduated with a Bachelor of Music in 2009. Throughout her academic journey, Herty didn't just limit herself to the classroom. She took on the role of an assistant teacher and music therapist in 2006, marking the beginning of her dedication to sharing her musical expertise. From 2010 to 2023, Herty relocated to Jakarta, Indonesia, where she passionately taught vocal techniques at BISS (Bina Seni Suara) music school. Her commitment to music education extended to her role as a teacher at PSAI (Children Choir of Indonesia) in 2014, where she imparted the principles of choir and nurtured young soloists. In addition to her teaching endeavors, Herty embraced the stage as a member of the vocal group Amity Voice from 2015 to 2019. Specializing in jazz vocals, she and the group participated in various competitions across Indonesia and Singapore, leaving an indelible mark on the music scene.
