Boys and girls ages 2-5 years will learn the fundamentals of each game through various drills and training elements designed specifically for young players. Because every athlete has a specific role in the routine, the team cannot progress without everyone present. We are looking for families who are ready to commit to the season and athletes who are dedicated to their team's success! How Placements Work: We will be forming multiple teams this season. While everyone will be placed on a team, athletes demonstrating higher-level tumbling skills will be placed on our higher-level teams. We prioritize technique over difficulty; we would much rather see a "clean" Level 1 skill with pointed toes than a "shaky" Level 2 skill. Skill Levels at a Glance: Level 1 (High-Flyers Dream): Master the basics! Focus on Forward/Backward Rolls, Cartwheels, Round-offs, and Front/Back Walkovers, "working" back handsprings, arial drills, etc. Level 2 (High-Flyers Starlight): Adding power! Focus on connected back walkovers, back handsprings, and round-off back handsprings. Already has the skills down and working towards the next set of skills. Level 3 (High-Flyers Elite): Taking flight! Focus on Series Handsprings, Round-off Back Handspring Tucks, aerials and flips! Please only choose ONE tryout time for your age slot. Evaluation Dates & Times: Tuesday, April 14 4:00–5:30 PM — Ages 5–8 6:00–8:00 PM — Ages 9–15 Saturday, April 18 12:00–1:00 PM — Ages 5–8 1:30–3:00 PM — Ages 9–15 Please note: Age groups are for scheduling purposes only; final team placement is based strictly on skill and attitude. Let’s get your child ready to start preschool before they turn 2 years old. Seeing is believing: this is a class for children who miss the September cut-off for preschool and are ready to learn and play! We will begin the class with a caregiver and by November your child will be on their own with the support of their teacher and coach. See your child grow throughout the Parent/Caregiver and Child sessions as they joyfully explore the environment, manipulatives, learning materials, and discover the children around them. You and your child will be in a preschool classroom experiencing some of the typical daily activities, and learn from an experienced preschool teacher. This class encourages creativity, cognitive and social development, and independence in a preschool setting. There is never a better time to start working on gross and fine motor skills! We will also incorporate a “regular” day of preschool and end with a fun sports class! First month is 1 hr, then 90 min, and we move to 2 hours after winter break! Snacks are included! The main goal of the Hi-Five Flag Football program is to provide an opportunity for each athlete to improve his/her football skills while having FUN! Our philosophy of positive reinforcement in teaching football enables each athlete to enjoy the game while learning necessary skills and techniques.
