I have been playing electric bass for 25 years and string bass for 10 years. I have experience playing with bands that paid tribute to Led Zeppelin and Iron Maiden. My strengths are rock and heavy metal, but also have experience ranging from pit orchestras for musicals and jazz combos. My teaching focuses on developing the students fundamental techinque and reading music. However,it is not necessary for the student to be able to read music in order to provide a good lesson, because playing by ear is also an important skill.

My dad bought me an acoustic guitar when I was 11. I began some sight-reading as a Bass player in my high school jazz band in late 1980’s. I began studying Classical guitar variety in independent studies and junior college in 1992; That lead to developing sight-reading, variety improvisation skills, and a more precise skill in both playing and listening technique. I haven’t had a very exciting career but I have great taste; I’m a great sight-reader. I would like to be more helpful, informative, and successful as a teacher and instructor! I’m considering finishing more credits to help pursue a teaching career.
