Nestled within the lush burgeoning lei garden pond area, this immersive activity invites you to explore the art of lei making under the guidance of the knowledgeable instructors. As you select foraged flowers and foliage sourced from the gardens and local growers, you'll discover the significance behind the blooms, the lei making and the celebrations that we use lei in all year round. Whether you’re a seasoned lei maker or this is your first time, we welcome all levels of lei makers! Each participant will craft their own lei po'o (Hawaiian flower crown) using time-honored techniques passed down through generations across Polynesia. Get hands-on with the daily workings of the farm. Discover knowledge to bring home to your own garden. Explore unique planting architecture, crop production, and integrated animal systems that work together to build soil, cycle nutrients, and foster biodiversity. You’ll even get your hands (a little bit) dirty learning about planting, mulching and other activities, depending on the needs of the farm that morning. As you explore the food forest, you’ll taste fresh fruit and plants directly from the tree and learn about their history and special uses. You’ll end the experience with a beautiful platter of tropical, colorful fruits from the farm and farmers across Kauai.
