A combination of two of the historic museums in Charleston. My tour is about the people that settled in Charleston and why they chose this city. By the time the Revolutionary war started Charleston was the wealthiest city in America and our homes and gardens reflected this. Status was associated with your house and also your garden. Because of this, Charlestonians employed many Gardeners and Nurserymen from Europe who brought with them plants seen in many gardens today. Charlestonians (women and men) corresponded with the Royal Society of London members and John Bartram of Philadelphia regarding plants both for export and import. The history of the city, its people, architecture and plants is fascinating and I love sharing it.

Join Chicora Tours for the Magnolia Plantation Tour, the only Magnolia Plantation tour that includes all major experiences at the plantation. On this tour, the boat ride through Folly Beach's most pristine marshlands is a must do and an adventure in itself. The Middleton Place tour is an all-inclusive tour experience of one of Charleston's most beloved historic sites. Chicora Tours prides itself on being the only tour operator in Charleston to offer this tour. Our Middleton Place tour has smaller groups sizes, transportation in a luxurious Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van with licensed tour guides to answer your questions. The tour begins a delicious and authentic Lowcountry lunch in the Middleton Place restaurant. This is proceed by the house tour and then a guided tour of the gardens. Guests will also have time to see the wildlife on site, learn about the history of the enslaved at Eliza's house if they chose and shop at the Museum shop and Garden Market.
