He began playing Percussion at the age of 11 and continued his education by majoring in Music Performance at Sam Houston State University. His musical influences include john Bonham, Buddy Rich and Chris Dave. Darrius's favorite thing about music is Performing and his favorite thing about teaching music is watching young people grow more aware and intell. One of his favorite teaching experiences was being accepted into the Idyllwild arts Orchestra and Chamber ensemble when he was young.
