He began playing guitar at the age of 10 and continued his education by teaching and completing his music degree at Grossmont College, now at San Diego State University to further his music knowledge. His musical influences include all genres. Tyler's favorite thing about music is the therapy it brings to each person as they perform and positive influence it brings to the soul and his favorite thing about teaching music is the progress of improvement and the success of completing their desired musical goals. One of his favorite teaching experiences was starting a guitar program at the San Diego Braille Institute thus teaching 2 group classes per week with the visually impaired. Formal Education: Grossmont College A.A. Degree in Music Education Currently at S.D.S.U. B.M. program in Music Education Private Education: Studied music under the Instructor of Mark Madruga which holds a M.M. in music education from S.D.S.U. For over 15 years I have been studying formal and contemporary musical genres under his instruction. Performing Experience: Have performed well over 10 years playing throughout San Diego to Mexico's Baja California, Balboa Park Sculptors Guild featured artist celebrations, Encinitas city hall, private residence events etc. Experience Teaching: Have been teaching for ten years between one on one and group lessons. Braille institute-developed a guitar class teaching groups of visually impaired guitar students in groups of 5-8 per session.
