Owing much to his upbringing in a musical family, Daniel continued his musical studies through private lessons and by playing in various ensembles including orchestras and worship groups. After high school, the decision was made to pursue his college degree in music performance ultimately earning his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in classical guitar performance and studio/jazz guitar performance respectively. Daniel's favorite thing about music is that it has always been a source of happiness and he takes great care to ensure that his student's efforts are directed towards acquiring the skills and tools they need to be able to play the music that they love. Daniel's studies in various instruments and across multiple styles and genres, afford him the ability to assist students in their musical journey whatever that may entail, be it reading music notation, exercising proper technique and form, or learning music theory. Formal Education: M.M. Studio/Jazz Guitar Performance B.M Classical Guitar Performance Performing Experience: I have been performing since a very young age. Before I was even a teenager I was playing the cello with the orchestra at the local community college as well as various recitals organized by my instructors. I played in the orchestra from elementary all the way through high school and then periodically from then on whenever they needed additional musicians. I also played the trumpet in the concert band at the same community college through junior high school and part of high school. While in junior high school, my brother and I began playing with our church's youth band and we did that up until I left the area for college. While pursuing my Bachelor's degree, I performed extensively through the school of music where I was studying classical guitar as well as professionally with various colleagues mostly with small jazz ensembles and occasionally big band gigs. I also performed classical music at the occasional wedding with my sister who was enrolled at the same school of music. After graduating I performed as much as possible in the southern california area with a group of friends and classmates doing mostly jazz standards. Then I relocated to Los Angeles for graduate studies and performed as much as possible through the school of music at USC. Upon graduating I have been working as a freelance musician ever since although the gigs dried up with covid and since then I have been mostly teaching and recording with my band. I love to perform and I believe it is the cherry on top of the already incredible experiences that simply playing music brings.
