Early exposure to the arts, while at Newark School of the Arts summer program, sparked in him a passion for music at the age of 11. Music, arts and drama at Newark School of the Arts began to connect the missing link in his booming adolescents. His next experience with Capoeira at the age of 12 catapulted him to participate in the Spirit of New Jersey Drum Bugle Corp. The beating of drums and sound of the horns inspired Tamen to become a professional musician. The teachings of Thomas Price and countless other mentors made his dream a reality by preparing him to attend Montclair State University. While at Montclair, Tamen studied countless instruments including drums, percussion, guitar, piano and voice. However, his knowledge of jazz, choirs and orchestral repertoire directly influenced his music production skills. It forged a marriage between the streets and the opera house in a unique way that is tantalizing to the listener. Through his music production expertise, Tamen has worked with Buckwild, Foxx a Mill, Special K, Appolon ?Chap? Noel and many more. In 2013, Tamen started working on his own solo artistry where he produced, wrote and recorded two albums entitled ?D.R.Light The Genius? and ?Life Of The Genius?. Tamen has traveled performing his music in New York, Atlanta, Detroit, D.C. and various cities in the U.S. He has worked on 21 different projects and albums leaving his signature stamp of genius. Tamen continues to break the creative mold through his music while still exploring other art-forms such as painting and acting. Creativity and innovation truly runs through the blood of Tamen H., which has coined the name ?Genius?.
