In May 2012 I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Pennsylvania State University, where I studied double bass with Professor Robert Nairn, the former President of the International Society of Bassists. In addition to advanced study of classical and jazz, I have toured both the east and west coasts several times with rock and folk rock bands. I have also recorded on a wide range of projects, including albums produced by Ron Blair from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Pete Steinkopf from The Bouncing Souls. Formal Education: Bachelor of Arts in Music, Pennsylvania State University, Class of 2012. Private Education: While attending Penn State, I studied bass with Professor Robert Nairn, the former President of the International Society of Bassist Throughout middle school and high school, I studied privately with Peter Tomforde. Performing Experience: I have performed orchestral concerts at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and Heinz I've played with rock and folk rock bands all over the country, including several tours of the east and west coast I have played in big band jazz bands, as well as jazz combo Experience Teaching: I first began giving lessons during my junior year in high school, in I taught double bass, bass guitar, and guitar after school and over the summer During my senior year of high school, I was asked to give sectional lessons to the double bassists in the freshman orchestra. I was also the only student invited to make a guest appearance as a conductor during the final concert. While earning my music degree at Penn State, I took several classes in music education. For one semester I was given the opportunity to lead a preschool class in beginner level music instruction. I continued to teach lessons during the summers, and in 2011 I worked as the music specialist at West Hills Day Camp, where I played guitar and led the campers in song.
